About us
Trueline Tiling is Based in Loughborough, Leicestershire, East Midlands and founded by Andrew Whelband in 2006.
Andrew has lived in Loughborough locally since 1986, after leaving school he studied Motor Vehicle Engineering at Loughborough College. He started his career at TVR sports cars then moved to his local Volkswagen Dealership.
An opportunity to join the engineering team at Walkers Crisps came up in 2002. The job was rewarding in lots of ways and being shift work with 12 hour days, this meant that the time off was good.
A lot of his time off was spent doing house renovations. With his engineering background, ability to work with his hands and talent to visualize how a room will look and function when completed, this resulted in a very high standard and quality of finished work. Most importantly, it gave him real job satisfaction which his current career never did.
Another important skill was learnt whilst renovating houses, work tidy and clean up afterwards... Tidy as you go as they say.
After many positive comments, especially regarding the precision and finish of his tiling made him re-evaluate employment within engineering.
He attended a professional training course in all aspects of wall & floor tiling covering all types of tiles including natural stone. The course also covered basic plumbing, wet room & bathroom installations and the fitting of electric under floor heating.
Within the first few years of being self employed taught Andrew a great deal, he brushed shoulders and worked with other tradesmen on a variety jobs, some working to very different standards. This experience soon defined Trueline Tiling and its beliefs, to deliver High Quality, High Value Craftmanship, combined with a Friendly, Professional and Reliable service that is clean and respectful to your home. A small local company Andrew had worked alongside stood out from the crowd, Total Maintenance Services Ltd, plumbers, heating engineers and electricians. From then on teaming up to do complete bathrooms and wet room installations, and in the last 5 years working a lot more closely on varying sized projects.
